CYSTORAL contains the active substance fosfomycin, which is used to treat acute uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections.
Composition
CYSTORAL contains the active substance fosfomycin in the amount of 3 g per sachet, as well as excipients: sucrose, saccharin sodium, orange flavor containing maltodextrin, acacia, ascorbic acid, alpha-tocopherol, and sulfur dioxide.
Indications
CYSTORAL is used to treat acute uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections in men and girls aged 12 years and older, as well as adult women. It is also used for prophylaxis during diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions in adult patients.
Pharmacological properties
Fosfomycin is a bactericidal antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by blocking one of the first stages of peptidoglycan synthesis.
