About SEVICAR NST

SEVICAR NST is a combined medicinal product intended for the treatment of arterial hypertension. The drug combines three active substances that provide a pronounced antihypertensive effect, exceeding the effect of each component separately.

Composition

The composition of the drug includes olmesartan medoxomil, amlodipine besylate, and hydrochlorothiazide. Tablets are released in two dosages: 20 mg/5 mg/12.5 mg or 40 mg/10 mg/12.5 mg respectively.

Accessory substances include pregelatinized cornstarch, siliconized microcrystalline cellulose, sodium croscarmellose, and magnesium stearate. The film coating contains polyvinylpyrrolidone, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol, talc, and iron oxides (yellow, red, black).

Indications

The drug is used for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. It is prescribed as additional therapy if the combination of olmesartan and amlodipine does not provide adequate blood pressure control.

SEVICAR NST is also used as a replacement for patients whose condition is stably controlled by taking individual components (olmesartan, amlodipine, and hydrochlorothiazide) in the form of two- or single-component medicinal products.

Pharmacological properties

SEVICAR NST contains an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (olmesartan), a calcium channel blocker (amlodipine), and a thiazide diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide). Such a combination allows for effective reduction of arterial pressure.

Olmesartan blocks the action of angiotensin II - a key hormone that causes vasoconstriction and increased pressure. This allows for the elimination of vasoconstriction and reduction of aldosterone secretion, which plays a crucial role in the pathophysiology of hypertension.
