About УЛЬТРЕКС

УЛЬТРЕКС is an antibacterial drug containing clindamycin (300 mg per capsule). The drug belongs to the lincosamide group and is used for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections.

Composition

Each capsule contains 300 mg of clindamycin. The auxiliary components include lactose monohydrate, corn starch, talc, and magnesium stearate. The capsule shell is made from gelatin with the addition of titanium dioxide and black dye (shellac, iron oxide, propylene glycol, and ammonium hydroxide).

Indications

The drug is prescribed for acute and chronic infections caused by pathogens sensitive to clindamycin. Specifically, it is effective for bone, joint, respiratory tract, skin, and soft tissue infections. It is also used for infections of the ENT organs, teeth, tonsils, urinary and pelvic organs, female genital organs, and scarlet fever. In severe cases of illness, treatment is recommended to start with intravenous administration of clindamycin drugs.

Pharmacological Properties

Clindamycin inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria by interacting with the 50S subunit of ribosomes. At standard doses, the drug exhibits bacteriostatic activity. Its effectiveness depends on the duration of maintaining the concentration of the drug above the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for the pathogen.

Resistance to the drug usually develops due to mutations in the sites of antibiotic binding to ribosomal RNA or through methylation of specific nucleotides.
