About ТРАНЕКСАМ

ТРАНЕКСАМ is an antifibrinolytic medicinal product intended for stopping or preventing bleeding. The drug is effective in conditions accompanied by increased fibrinolysis, both at local and systemic levels. It is used for adults and children aged 1 year and older.

Composition

The active substance of the drug is tranexamic acid. 1 ml of the solution contains 50 mg of this compound. Water for injections serves as an auxiliary component.

Indications

The drug is used for bleeding caused by increased fibrinolysis, in particular for menorrhagia, metrorrhagia, and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is also indicated for hemorrhagic disorders of the urinary tract resulting from surgical interventions, and during dental or otolaryngological operations (tooth extraction, adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy).

ТРАНЕКСАМ is used in gynecological practice, for obstetric complications, and during major surgical interventions, including cardiovascular, thoracic, and abdominal surgeries. In addition, the agent is used to control hemorrhages associated with the administration of fibrinolytic drugs.

Pharmacological properties

Tranexamic acid acts as an antifibrinolytic agent, specifically inhibiting the activation of plasminogen and its conversion into plasmin. This provides a systemic and local hemostatic effect. The drug also exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and anti-infective effects due to the inhibition of the formation of kinins and other active peptides.

Studies confirm the analgesic activity of tranexamic acid and its ability to enhance the analgesic effect of opiates. The efficacy of the drug in pediatric practice is confirmed by clinical studies, in particular in pediatric cardiac surgery.
