About LETROMARA
Letromara is used to treat various forms of breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
Composition
Active ingredient: letrozole, a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor. Excipients include lactose monohydrate, maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose 101, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, sodium starch glycolate (type A), magnesium stearate.
Indications
Hormone receptor-positive invasive early breast cancer in postmenopausal women; extended adjuvant therapy after 5 years of tamoxifen in early invasive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
Pharmacological properties
Letrozole inhibits aromatase by competitive binding to the haem cytochrome P450 subunit, reducing oestrogen biosynthesis in peripheral and tumour tissue.
