ФОЛІЄВА КИСЛОТА АСТРА — this is a medicinal product, the active ingredient of which is folic acid hydrate. The preparation is used for correcting folic acid deficiency in the organism and treating conditions associated with this state.

Composition

Each tablet contains 5 mg of folic acid hydrate. Auxiliary components include microcrystalline cellulose, monohydrated lactose, polyvinylpyrrolidone, crospovidone, and magnesium stearate.

Indications

The preparation is prescribed for the treatment and prevention of anemias caused by folic acid deficiency, including macrocytic, megaloblastic, and postoperative anemias. The agent is also used for anemias that have developed due to the use of medications, radiation effects, inflammatory bowel diseases, or malabsorption syndrome.

ФОЛІЄВА КИСЛОТА АСТРА is indicated for women in the risk group who plan pregnancy, for the prevention of congenital defects in the fetus, such as neural tube defects, "cleft lip" or "cleft palate." Additionally, the preparation is used for folic acid deficiency due to unbalanced nutrition and for the treatment of male infertility caused by oligospermia.

Pharmacological Properties

In the organism, folic acid is converted into tetrahydrofolic acid, which acts as a coenzyme in metabolic processes. It stimulates erythropoiesis, ensures normal maturation of megaloblasts and formation of normoblasts. It also participates in the synthesis of amino acids, nucleic acids, purines, pyrimidines, and choline metabolism.

The preparation promotes proper placental function and protects against teratogenic factors. Additionally, folic acid plays a crucial role in the maturation of spermatozoa.
